Historical turning points, shared memories and the power of the stage: The Dawn of Heroes recalls the fateful moments of Hungarian history through the language of dance and music. The first part of the evening brings to life the period of tension leading up to the Battle of Mohács. The second part, the world premiere of Requiem for Mohács, looks ahead to the 500th anniversary of Hungary’s national tragedy. Zoltán Zsuráfszky and Zsuzsa Zs. Vincze’s latest theatrical vision does not merely commemorate the event; it also shows how Hungarian culture held firm even during the country’s most severe historical traumas. The performance by the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble will be both spectacular and thought-provoking, transforming our memories of history into a shared communal experience. Here, the past will cease to be a distant lesson and instead become a living experience expressed in movement.
