Platinum level members of the Müpa+ membership programme can buy tickets for the event on 5 May from 10 am, at the Gold level on 6 May from 10 am, and at the Silver level on 7 May from 10 am. Basic level members, as well as members of the general public will get the opportunity to purchase tickets from 10 am on 8 May.

Five decades of creative work, countless memorable moments on stage, and an oeuvre that remains vibrant to this day: a celebratory gala honours the 70th birthday of the Kossuth Prize-winning choreographer, Zoltán Zsuráfszky. This performance by the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble presents a selection of iconic stage moments from “everyone’s Zsura”, evoking a unique creative world in which respect for authentic folklore, the power of theatrical vision, and dramatic sensitivity come together. The secret to Zsuráfszky’s art lies in his treatment of tradition not as an immutable legacy, but as a living language that can be given voice time and again. The gala evening is more than a mere birthday tribute though, it is a grand encounter with an exceptional career that has shaped the attitude to dance of multiple generations, and continues to influence our understanding of staged folk dance to this day.
