The Hungarian National Dance Ensemble will once again be representing Hungary on a tour of Japan starting in February of 2016. But first, the company will stage a selection of its pieces for the tour at the Müpa Budapest, presenting the loveliest dances of the Hungarian-speaking world in a lively and varied folk culture programme performed with an emphasis on originality and style. This production presenting the dances of the Carpathian Basin will feature the familiar csárdás dance, the showy girls' bottle dance, the virtuosic 'lads' dance', as well as bringing Transylvanian Gypsy dances to the stage.
The Hungarian National Dance Ensemble's tour of Japan is being supported by the Ministry of Human Capacities and the National Cultural Fund.
