It is customary at the Hungarian Dance University for graduating ballet students to demonstrate the skills they have acquired over the years as part of a graduation performance to mark the completion of their studies. This is an opportunity for the young artists to display not only their technical proficiency, but also to develop their personality, artistic persona, and versatility. The evening’s programme presents a wide spectrum of eras and styles in the art of dance, ranging from Marius Petipa’s classical Raymonda, with its unique stylistic hallmarks, through the brisk Bournonville technique and László Seregi’s emotionally infused neoclassical Spartacus, right up to works by contemporary choreographers still active today.
