After wowing hundreds of thousands on historical trips in time in 1001 Years, Revenge, The Gypsies of Nagyida and Measure for Measure, the choreographer has now chosen our present and recent past as the scene of his story – namely Hungary in 2009 and 1969. Just as 40 years ago, we are living through a time of crisis and reform, but of greater importance for the creators of this new piece are our spiritual crises and attempts at spiritual reform. We are the heroes of the story, those who long for companionship and understanding, who trust in miracles and dreams, the seekers of happiness in 2009 and 1969. The musical backdrop is provided by the party music of 2009 and pop hits of 1969. The protagonists are love and the twenty-somethings of now and then, the latter now in their sixties – and, of course, whatever people seek in a dance, a longed-for silence, a frittered moment or a dreamed-of embrace: HAPPINESS. Presented by the National Dance Theatre
