Youth and happiness in 1969 and 2009: “Back in my day…!” – say those from the 1960s when they want to show they know better than young people today. Now we’ll see whether they’re right or not. The “dance comedy” Happiness 69:09 compares the quests for happiness from two different generations, 1969 and 2009, with the help of the biggest hits and slickest dance moves of the two eras. Although the two dates are separated by 40 years, there are many similarities as in both cases people’s everyday lives, and their goals and opportunities, were shaped by crises and efforts at reform. All this dissolves at a memorable, joyful, time-travelling house party, where club hits from the 2000s compete with the atmosphere of '60s pop music festivals, and where flirting between boys and girls is just as fraught with anxious excitement as at any time in history. Compulsory for members of the Great Generation and their children, for serious grown-ups and experimenting teenagers, and for fans of rock, beat and hip-hop alike!

A joint production by ExperiDance and the Hungarian National Dance Theatre.
