The Open Rehearsal Room series is a tradition of the Hungarian National Philharmonic that goes back years, and it always attracts a great deal of interest. The artists of the Hungarian National Philharmonic and the Hungarian National Choir prepare true musical treats that they then perform in chamber ensembles. The venue, the orchestra's rehearsal room, and the selected pieces offer visitors a much more cosy and intimate concert experience. These occasions are also special for the ensembles, since they are the ones who select most of the pieces, and this medium allows them to establish a much more direct connection with their audience. In the 2019/20 season, the series will become even more special: in a shift from previous practise, the orchestra and chorus will perform these concerts together, with shared programmes instead of separate ones.
