Symphony No. 9 in E minor ("From the New World”), Op. 95

Lurking in these familiar stories are the tragedies of individual fates. Our protagonists travel along different paths, but they are all inexorably drifting toward their destinies. Overcome by the illusion, force or power of love, they are exalted as lonely heroes in their final hour. The fates of the knight of the sad countenance and the lovers of Verona will be portrayed through orchestral music, with the second half of the concert featuring Dvořák's emblematic Symphony No. 9.
