This latest series introduces the life's work of classical Hungarian poets in collaboration with the József Katona, Örkény and National Theatres, as well as the University of Theatre and Film Arts. The programme is always compiled by a significant contemporary lyricist and is performed by actors from the respective theatres.
If there was ever a contemporary lyricist whose work was, at first glance at least, completely removed from Endre Ady's poetic style, it is István Kemény. And yet he bridges this apparent distance with a network of hidden connections and bindings. It is in this vein that the first evening of the Poetry Recitals at Müpa Budapest series will endeavour to take the audience on truly captivating lyrical journeys.
The production’s cooperating partner is the Örkény Theatre.
Further dates in the series: 19 January, 16 March 2017.
