The Dohnányi Orchestra Budafok's annual concert welcoming in the New Year is now both a tradition and one of the major events of the post-holiday season. The ensemble always prepares something special and their aim this time is to dazzle the audience with 'serious trifles', a boisterous mood and sparkling music. All they reveal about the programme in advance is that the music will be on the themes of love, adventure, revenge and humour – the audience will hear the loveliest love songs of the '70s, virtuoso pieces for orchestra and soloists, as well as Mozart's aria for the Queen of the Night as jazzed up by Roland Szentpáli. Wagner's Valkyries will come to life in dance alongside a selection of musical works promising both entertainment and joy.
