Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major, Op. 83

Dvořák

Symphony No. 7 in D minor, Op. 70

This concerto has all the attributes to make it a genuine celebration for the audience. The Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome has operated since 1908 and is one of Europe’s finest symphonic ensembles. Its conductor, the 50-year-old British maestro Daniel Harding, has led the orchestra since autumn 2024 and is among the best in his field. Encouraged in the early days of his career by Simon Rattle and Claudio Abbado, Harding has demonstrated his exceptional talent at the helm of numerous European orchestras. The soloist, Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov, won the 2011 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Still only 34, he has captivated audiences in the world’s greatest concert halls for two decades now. And the programme? Brahms’ Piano Concerto in B-flat major and Dvořák’s Seventh Symphony represent two of the most beautiful works of the Romantic repertoire.
