Tre Sonetti di Petrarca, S. 270
If anyone deserves the title of star tenor, it is Jonas Kaufmann. One of the most popular singers of our times, he is the subject of genuinely hot competition for his services among the world's opera houses. Kaufmann is seldom heard performing an evening of songs, and so this promises to be an occasion for celebration at the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall as he presents a selection of the most beautiful pieces from the repertoire of Romantic song cycles, accompanied on piano by another leading personality in the shape of Helmut Deutsch. A special treat this evening will be Franz Liszt‘s Tre Sonetti di Petrarca, to be heard here in its original form.
