Inspired by both Miloš Forman's acclaimed film Amadeus and Mozart's own correspondence, the plot of this production is constructed around the key moments of the composer's life. In four scenes, it depicts Mozart's youth, his great loves, his travels and triumphs, as well as his relationships with the key people in his life: his father, the emperor and Salieri. This performance focuses primarily on Mozart's genius, offering a substantially larger portion of the composer's oeuvre than the film did. The audience will get to hear in succession some of the high points of the composer's output, including the finalé of the second act of Le nozze di Figaro, Davidde penitente, and excerpts from Die Zauberflöte and the Requiem.
