Dudamel Extends Contract

Following the highly successful concert by the Los Angeles Philharmonic on the 3rd of February at the Palace of Arts, standing on stage at Bartók Béla National Concert Hall Deborah Borda, president and CEO of the orchestra announced that they would be extending the contract of Gustavo Dudamel as music director through the 2018/19 season, which would also be the centennial year of the orchestra.

Who’s Behind the Curtain?

Liszt! In every respect. - Opening Gala Concert
On January 22, the performance of Zoltán Kocsis and the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra shall officially open the Year of Liszt Liszt Year 2011 in Hungary. The concert is the first event of the series of events  titled Liszt! In every respect. The event is broadcast live on Hungarian Television and on the MR3 Bartók Rádió.

The premier of Pál Závada: Hungarian Festival will be held at the National Theatre

Due to technical reasons, Pál Závada: Hungarian Festival, the joint production of the National Theatre and the Palace of Arts will now be performed at the Gobbi Hilda Stage of the National Theatre.
Performance dates at the National Theatre are as follows: 19th, 20th and 29th of November, 2010.
