Wagner tickets with Palace of Arts gift vouchers

Customers will receive a HUF 1,000 MÜPA gift voucher for each HUF 10,000 spent if they purchase tickets for the 2013 Wagner productions online or at the Palace of Arts ticket offices before the end of this year’s Wagner in Budapest Opera Festival – i.e. by 19 June 2012.

International IAMA conference – in Hungary for the first time

For the first time in its history, the International Artist Managers' Association, the leading worldwide association for classical music artist managers, artistic agencies and concert agents will be holding its annual conference in Hungary. The conference will be held between 19-21 April 2012, and will be expected to be attended by the cream of the classical music world: hundreds of concert managers, heads of major artistic centres as well as artists.

Photo and video competition for college and university students

Starting from the fall of 2012, the Palace of Arts will begin editing its programming schedule according to a seasonal theme, thus in the future each season will be related to a given theme. The 2012/2013 programme selection attempts to highlight the fact that quality culture can provide a helping hand in everyday life. In relation to the theme, the Palace of Arts has announced a photo and video competition.

“The Metropolitan Opera at the Palace of Arts” broadcasts available from 14 April

“The Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD” – In Hungary, the Palace of Arts was the first to reach an agreement with the Metropolitan Opera back in 2008 to put on a series of live digital opera broadcasts which can be seen in several countries within Europe and overseas.  In the 2012/2013 season, the repertoire of the “The Metropolitan Opera at the Palace of Arts” series will be made up of 12 productions, for which tickets will be available to Müpa Card Holders from 13 April, and everyone else from 14 April 16:00.

Concert tickets to visit the Mélycsarnok

In accordance with the cooperation between the Palace of Arts and the Műcsarnok Exhibition Hall, all those who purchase tickets between March 22, 2012 and April 22, 2012 to Palace of Arts performances will also receive a free ticket that gives admission to an exhibition by Marina Abramović at the Mélycsarnok—the project gallery of Műcsarnok—which showcases the world-renowned artist’s five-channel video installation shot in Laos, as well as photos and drawings. The exhibition can be visited from February 23, 2012 until April 22, 2012.
