Recirquel inviting its audience to a winter tale wonderworld
31 October 2018
From 2 December this year, for the third time, Müpa Winter Open Air, with its lights, ice rink and a bunch of special winter programmes, will make its contribution to getting everyone tuned into the Christmas holidays’ festive atmosphere. The Müpa Tent, on the other hand, will await the audience with a new production, a mesmerising winter tale by Recirquel, the world-renowned contamporary circus company.
The ensemble’s artistic manager Bence Vági conjures up a winter’s tale in the Müpa Tent where, with the help of special stage props, a wonderland frozen in ice will come to life before the very eyes of the audience. There will be no chairs in the unconventional circular theatre whose every nook and cranny – including the audience – will be part of the production. Thanks to the special stage set, artists will come closer than ever to the audience, sometimes within an arm’s length overhead.
The play, entitled Crystal, will be performed twice a day in the Müpa Tent between 8 and 31 December, sixteen times in total. Classes participating in the Müpa partner school programme can see this special production at times reserved for them, at specially discounted entry fees. In addition to Recirquel’s performance, there will be jazz and popular music concerts as well as family and youth programmes to make the season an unforgettable experience for all age groups. Besides the programmes, a skating rink where everyone can take a spin for free, and ‘hütte’ buffets with a festive winter atmosphere will await visitors every day between 2 pm and 8 pm from 2 December.
