A farewell to Péter Nádas on 22 September

We regret to inform you of the passing of one of the most significant figures in contemporary Hungarian and European literature, Péter Nádas, on 26 August 2026. The Péter Nádas evening previously announced for 22 September will now take the form of a memorial to the writer.
We wish to express our sincere condolences and sympathy to the writer’s family, loved ones and admirers. At the evening of readings entitled In memoriam Péter Nádas, we will bid farewell to him together with the programme he originally prepared, accompanied by music performed by Trio Passacaglia. During the evening, András Forgách will read excerpts from Péter Nádas’s book My Dead Friends.
Tickets purchased previously are automatically valid for the changed programme, or may be refunded until 10 September 2026 via the online platform set up by Müpa Budapest for this purpose, as well as at Müpa box offices.
