Pál Vasvári– bass guitar, Bob Mintzer – soprano and tenor saxophone, Russell Ferrante – keyboard instruments, Dean Brown – guitar, Paco Sery – drums There are only a few Hungarian jazz musicians, who might consider several world-famous musicians their partners, while not having to leave Hungary. Pál Vasvári, one of the founders of the In Line ensemble is such a performer: in the Twin Lines Project he shared with Gyula Csepregi, Russell Ferrante (one of the founding pillars of the Yellowjacket...s), Alex Acuña (the one-time drummer of Weather Report), and Mike Stern and Dave Samuels accompanied him as early as in 1999. Vasvári borrowed the name of his 'All Star' formation from his 2004 solo album, upon the suggestion of Ferrante. The bass guitarist has accompanied the other participants (the Yellowjackets-member Bob Mintzer, one of the leading saxophonists of the world today; Dean Brown, who became famous in the modern age Brecker Brothers; and Paco Sery, who astonished everyone in the Joe Zawinul Syndicate) on numerous tours also. Vasvári, who celebrates his 50th birthday this year, was a member of the ensembles Rákfogó (together with Gábor Füsti Balogh and Tony Lakatos among others), and Bacillus (with László Gárdonyi and Tony Lakatos again as his partners) as a rookie musician; while he played in the Hungarian Jazz Quartet from 1986. From 1989, he toured Hungary and Europe with In Line, recording albums in the meanwhile. He founded his acoustic formation, the Vasvári String Trio, in 2001 with guitarist Miklós Birta Miklós and violinist Frankie Látó. The Night Runner Band plays unmistakeable fusion jazz. Their performance promises masterful instrumental solos, exciting compositions and a modern sound.
