This year the Society for Hungarian Philately celebrates its twentieth birthday. On September 18th, the Stamp Museum unveils its exhibition of rarities, which is primarily aimed at collectors. The Palace of Arts, seeing the success of last year’s exhibition which explored the relationship between music and stamps, now undertakes to exhibit not only some unique items but also through a set of slides presenting the history of Hungarian stamps, to popularise stamp collecting. Stamps hold up an int...eresting mirror to history and help us understand it, and they also help in this ever rapidly changing world to bring back a past that is receding with similar speed.
