The exhibition illustrates the relationship between modern European architecture and thousands of years of religious life and religious practises. It analyses the 20th Century and its different styles and how they integrate space for practicing religions. Fitting the title three “Spaces for Prayer” by John Pawson, Zlatko Ugljen and Hoefer Lorch + Hirsch were on show. The architects introduced their designs for the Cistercian monastic quarters, the White Mosque and the new Synagogue. The three ...chosen examples were illustrated by photos, blueprints, descriptions and short video films. The films were recorded during various masses and complete the sensorial experience of these sacral spaces with their musical backdrops. The exhibition was open to the public during the summer of 2007 in the Archabbey of Pannonhalma.
