On the occasion of the International Chopin Year, the Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin Institute, the Budapest Polish Institute and the National Foreign Language Library present an exhibition of documents, pictures and facsimiles from the life of the immortal composer and piano virtuoso. The objects are divided into 14 thematic “islands” and present Chopin’s personality, his piano artistry, his relationship with women, and the influence his music has exerted on later generations. The “islands” can be visi...ted in any order the visitor desires, and a far from conventional picture will emerge of the composer, his originality and the secrets of his personality. The exhibition even touches on his travels and the music’s reception in Hungary. The exhibition is supplemented by a multimedia musical illustration, and 14 volumes of facsimiles of the composer’s manuscripts will also be on show. Organiser: Polish Institute
