In a time of economic recession, the role of culture is particularly significant. The objective of the Palace of Arts as well is to bring art closer to visitors; to make its programmes more comprehensible to all. One of the tools to achieve this is editing its programming schedule according to a seasonal theme starting from the fall of 2012, thus in the future each season will be related to a given theme. The 2012/2013 programme selection attempts to highlight the fact that quality culture can p...rovide a helping hand in everyday life, and allows us to look ahead even in the worst of times. In relation to the theme, the Palace of Arts has announced a competition called Látóhatár (Horizon) for college and university students, the objective of which is for participants to show what perspectives they see in terms of culture and society using the instruments of photography and/or film. Our exhibition showcases the works judged best by the jury as well as works considered the best by the public.
