Moscow-born Yulianna Avdeeva saw her international career take off after she became the first woman since Martha Argerich to win the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, one of the world's most prestigious music events. She commenced her studies at her native city's Gnessin Institute and continued them at the International Piano Academy Lake Como. She has performed with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Czech and London philharmonics and the NHK and Pittsburgh symphony orchestras, among other ensembles. She has been appearing for years at the world's greatest festivals (such as the Rheingau Musik Festival, the London International Piano Series, the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Eindhoven's Muziekgebouw Frits Philips and the Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele). She toured America in 2012 and Japan in 2013. In spite of her young age, she possesses a broad repertoire ranging from Bach to modern compositions, receiving the highest critical praise for the perfection and sensitivity of her mastery of Chopin. Her remarkably evocative playing and flawless technique earn her resounding acclaim everywhere she performs. Also a superb chamber musician, she partners with world-famous musicians, such as her recent concert with Julia Fischer in Berlin.
'The playing of this Russian pianist is a revelation - She plays brilliantly with emotion and a magical touch.' Her audience are caught under her spell,” wrote Le Journal du Médoc.
