The Palace of Arts offers not four but five concerts at the all-new Jazz Spring. While lovers of electronic jazz can enjoy performances at the Festival Theatre and the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall in turn, a different style of jazz can be heard in the Glass Hall from 8 pm onwards thanks to the Péter Rozsnyói Trio. The piano-led acoustic jazz trio plays absorbing, sometimes lyrical and sometimes boisterous music which, though played at a lower decibel level, does not fall short in intensity.... Péter Rozsnyói earned his degree at the Faculty of Jazz of the Liszt Academy of Music as a student of Kálmán Oláh, and soon after represented Hungary at the Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition. In 2007, he won a Dezső Ablakos Lakatos scholarship, and was also presented with the Veszprém County Prima Award in his home town. Besides being a regular partner of singer Gábor Winand and a constant member of the Imre Kőszegi trio, he also plays solo piano in addition to performing with his own trio. Since 2006, his trio has included György Orbán and András Mohay, who comprise one of the most sought-after rhythm sections in the country. They are not merely colleagues but also good friends, and therefore in complete unison when performing. This harmony is similarly evident on Rozsnyói’s CD entitled Autumn Witch, which appeared in 2010. Presented by: Palace of Arts
