Michal Urbaniak – violin, David Gilmore – guitar, George Cooligan – piano, Otto Williams – bass guitar, Troy Miller – drums, Mika Urbaniak - vocals, rap Michal Urbaniak is one of the world’s most famous Polish jazz musicians. Violinist, saxophonist, composer, arranger and discoverer of new talent, he has lived in New York since 1973. He became world famous overnight when he worked on jazz legend Miles Davis’s album Tutu. This was followed with collaborations with such world famous musicians a...s Quincy Jones, Billy Cobham, Stephane Grappelli, Joe Zawinul, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Marcus Miller, Jaco Pastorius, Toots Thielmans, Ron Carter, Roy Haynes and Omar Hakim. He has created numerous projects and groups – Jazz Legends, Fusion, Urbanator, Urbanizer, UrbSymphony – and also composed music and made arrangements for them. Urbaniak won the grand prix at the Montreux Jazz Festival and has performed at all the world’s leading jazz festivals, made several appearances at Carnegie Hall, the Avery Fisher Hall and other world famous concert venues and clubs. For many years now, he has composed theatre and film music and released over sixty records. In his formation, the most talented performers of the American jazz scene appear now, who, we are sure, would receive even more attention in the near future. David Gilmore appeared in the ensembles of Wayne Shorter, Don Byron and Cassandra Wilson, with George Cooligan also participating in the group of the latter. Otto Williams' astonishing virtuosity held Chaka Khan, Ray Charles, and even pop star Bobby Brown spellbound. The British-origin Troy Miller is at home in the different styles of jazz, funk, rock and R'n'B too, thus he could star beside various performers from Roy Ayers through Julian Josephen and Marcus Printup to Roachford. Mika Urbaniak, the daughter of the bandmaster had an ample source to learn the tricks of performing jazz from, however she represents a fresher world than his father does.
