Emil (Emilio) Jellinek – vocals, beat-box, drums, Gábor Bolla – tenor saxophone, Róbert Szakcsi Lakatos – piano, József Horváth Plutó – double bass Emilio became popular as a pop singer but it is important to emphasise that he was originally a jazz musician and remains one to his soul. For this reason, from time to time he appears in jazz productions. Born in 1976, he took up jazz at the age of thirteen, teaching himself jazz drumming. He was still a teenager when leading figures of Hungarian... jazz started to take notice and he could prove just what he could do in the bands of Béla Szakcsi Lakatos, Gyula Babos and Attila László. In 2001, he won the prize of best jazz drummer at the Brussels European Jazz Festival with the Tzumo Trio, and in 2004 at the Connections concert, perform before Sting. He has also released two solo records as an R’n’B performer. He regards it as a great honour that one of the leading world pianists, Chick Corea, has also spoken warmly about him. Emilio will be taking to the stage as part of the “Monday Night Jazz” series with the young guns of Hungarian jazz, playing standard jazz tunes in brand new arrangements and many surprise musical fire-crackers.
