The BJO’s productions are of such a standard that they have been able to work with such figures as drummer Peter Erskine and sax player Dave Liebman, but they have also explored the world of contemporary music, including a performance of Péter Eötvös’s work Paris-Dakar. It was a great honour for them in 2006 when they were called upon by the Hungarian Jazz Society to be the house band in the final of its jazz arrangement competition. The performance of the Budapest Jazz Orchestra will be topped by the improvisations of Tamás Berki, while the premier of György Vukán's orchestral composition entitled 'Andalusian Cat' with the appearance of the comoser promises to be a real delicacy.
