Of symphonic arrangements to be heard in recent years, one of the most popular and iconic was undoubtedly HS7’s song Ez a szerelem. Now, at last, the time has come for the boys to present not merely a taster of the abundance of their songs that cry out for symphonic arrangements, but an entire evening’s experience of their music in the company of the MR Symphony Orchestra. The evening is made all the more exciting through the collaboration of three entirely different arrangers, ensuring a divers...e musical palette from the purely classical approach to highly experimental sounds. The choice of songs covers an equally broad spectrum from the group’s biggest hits to its lesser-known songs. The sweep of this colourful yet organically coherent special concert will be further enhanced by the presence of guest artist Zoltán “Papa” Sárközy. The keyboard player for 30Y is a shining example of how the sensibility of a classically trained pianist can blend smoothly with raw rock ’n’ roll. The real stars of the show will, of course, be the songs of HS7. It follows that the musical arrangements will be tailored to the character of these songs, promising a very broad range of emotion and dynamics, from widescreen sound pictures that “pull out all the stops” to minimalist numbers using just a single instrument. HS7 have never given a symphonic concert with the MR Symphony Orchestra, and who knows when they might do so again. –––––––––– A co-production by the Palace of Arts and m1 television, MR2 Symphonic+ from the Palace of Arts is an independently conceived extension for television of the MR2-Petőfi Radio initiative launched in 2011. At that time, several popular groups took to the stage with the Hungarian Radio (MR) Symphony Orchestra, each performing new versions of two or three of their songs. Based on this successful idea, the music of a single group will now be adapted for performance at each of the special concerts in this series. The Béla Bartók National Concert Hall offers the audience a genuine concert experience, as well as a glimpse behind the scenes at the recording of a new television presentation.
