They call it the queen of instruments. The fact is that the organ has a thousand voices and a thousand faces. Here we have the chance to pay homage to “Her Highness” for an entire day, getting to know the grand organ installed at the Palace of Arts while also hearing some unusual and rare works for the instrument. The evening will see a screening of Fritz Lang’s monumental silent film Metropolis with organ accompaniment, while the closing chords to this marathon exploration of the history of the... instrument will be provided by the spellbinding sound of the Hammond organ, courtesy of Dr. Lonnie Smith and his trio.
