Let us turn back the wheels of time to 1995, when Endre Huszár founds the 9:30 Collective and their first album is released, in which the band leader plays drums, composes and handles synthesiser programming. Why 9:30? In homage to the legendary Weather Report, as one of the latter’s albums is entitled 8:30. Let us move on to 2005, when the long-awaited second album entitled Momentary Fame is released, also the title of an ironic animated crime short. The next stop is 2008, when the 9:30 Collect...ive gives a highly successful concert at the Festival Theatre with the American duo Alien Chatter, at which point the e-Nerd prototype makes an appearance. The wait for the next event ends in May 2012, when Endre Huszár takes to the stage in the form of e-Nerd, no longer merely playing the drums, composing or programming, but doing all this simultaneously with the assistance of the most modern technical devices. His musical partners for the occasion are partly the same as those of 9:30; however, he has also invited musicians who similarly prefer the use of electronics to help bring instantaneous music to the world. The Dutch Rob van de Wouw is one of the leading figures in European electro-jazz, while Polish-born Krzysztof Ścierański is an old friend who frequently gives entire concerts with nothing more than one bass guitar and a few “gadgets.” During the evening the audience will be able to watch e-Nerd’s hands at work with the help of refined technical solutions and visual effects – and he promises not to cheat! In the spirit of this year’s Jazz Spring, several pieces will be played in memory of Joe Zawinul. Presented by: Palace of Arts
