The band was formed a year ago but singer guitarist Zoltán Czutor was by no means unknown in the profession because for ten years, he had been the front man of the Nyers band. With their first major hit “It will be, has been, is” Belmondo entered public consciousness. This song was at the top of the charts on both radio and television for several weeks leading them in 2006 to Belmondo being nominated for a “Viva Comet” prize. Remarkably, they managed to make three video clips from material on t...heir first CD in under a year. Each used a different director and the styles of all three were both different and interesting. This Belmondo concert gives us the chance to experience Zoltán Czutor’s highly interesting and rich lyrics. It is not just pop music that he has enriched with his musical taste. For example he also wrote music for the Szeged National Theatre’s production of Clockwork Orange and also for the forthcoming remake of the movie Tüskevár. The other band members play in well known and popular bands as well. The band is expanded for this concert and there will also be a string section. Belmondo is appearing in this line-up for the very first time this evening.
