Singer-songwriter Ágnes is known for her charismatic personality, spiritually uplifting songs and distinctive singing voice, as much as she is for the profound content of her music and unusual instrumentation, offering a genuinely rare experience and authentic guidance to those seeking spiritual meaning in music. With her album Férfiszóval (József Attila) and the double album A lélek aljából (Radnóti), she began a kind of cultural revolution that has seen her work enter the school curriculum and... taught in universities. Her last concert on the Müpa stage, accompanied by a 20-strong band and the Honvéd Male Choir, was filmed in front of a sell-out crowd and repeated five times on Hungarian Television last year. This evening, Ágnes and her band take to the stage with a children’s chorus for an acoustic set, creating an intimate musical atmosphere and opening up a world that offers a real breath of fresh air for today’s audience. With authentic and distinctive instrumentation, uplifting songs both familiar and new, surprise duets, and spiritual and musical interaction both with each other and with nature, the ensemble brings the audience together into a spiritual community through archaic Hungarian folk prayer, the verse of Attila József and St Paul’s apostolic Hymn to Love. Ágnes’s music builds, uplifts and heals, providing hope and awakening faith, opening our senses and guiding us beyond three dimensions to a place where the differences between us – and between man and nature – disappear. Where our inner struggles bear fruit, where we can see clearly even in darkness, and where the walls crumble between the human and the divine: an experience that speaks to the soul.
