In the first three concerts of this series, we were shown around String City, Woodwindia and Brassville, the biggest cities of Symphonia, meeting the musical instruments which inhabit them. The fourth concert introduces us to the most distinctive formation of the classical music tradition, a creature of almost literally a thousand faces: the orchestra. We learn about the job of a conductor, and whether an orchestra can do without one, and what it means when thirty or more people come together to... create the harmonious collective sound which the ancient Greeks called a "symphony".
