After String City and Woodwindia, there is only one stop left on the road to Symphonia: The glittering city of Brassville. This is where the shiniest looking and sounding members of the symphony orchestra will introduce themselves: The jolly trumpet, the gentle French horn, the imposing trombone and the rumbling tuba. The children in attendance will be introduced to the construction of the instruments, their use and history, as well as their relationships with one another (they usually get along... very well). And, of course, their music, right down to the basics, including the nature of sound, how it comes about when lips are puckered and air is blown through them, why it is beautiful (or not, for that matter) and how sounds are turned into music. Ages: 6–12 years
