Admission to Müpa Budapest's virtual concert hall is free of charge.
We would like, even during this extraordinary situation, for the Müpa Budapest audience to still be able to encounter the world's most outstanding and thrilling artists each evening - this time in their own homes. It is precisely for this reason that we will open Müpa Budapest's virtual concert hall and auditoriums - each night at the familiar times - by providing access to a single unforgettable performance from past years.
The performance will be broadcasted on our website and YouTube channel.
László Velekei's works always explore the contradictions between individual actions and the judgements passed by society. For this choreography, however, he has chosen an eternal and universally familiar theme: love. This production built around short études shows the different faces of love, which sometimes recall a stormy sea, and at other times a hidden brook, slowly burbling away. It is both battle and play between two people: to wound and be wounded, to heal and be healed. But which one is to bleed to death from the wounds caused by the other? Entering this ‘ring of love' are the principal dancers of the Ballet Company of Győr. They will be joined by pianist János Balázs, who brings youthful energy, outstanding technical virtuosity and a unique musical vision to his personal and imaginative interpretations of the piano works by Franz Liszt and Richard Wagner.
This recording was made at a performance held at Müpa Budapest on 18 May 2018.
