Soloist change in Handel: Alexanders Feast on 28 March

We regret to inform you that due to illness, Miah Persson, the soprano soloist of the Alexander’s Feast event has cancelled her performance.

Young opera star Eleanor Dennis, who took the audience by storm with her performance at the London Handel Festival in 2011, is scheduled to sing the role of Thais tonight.

We regret to inform you that the Tigran Hamasyan Trio has postponed its spring European tour so the concert scheduled for 2 April 2015 at the Palace of Arts will now take place at the later date of 30 November 2015.

Parking on the Müpa 10 special birthday weekend

Our guests are kindly informed that during the Müpa 10 special birthday weekend (14-15 March), parking may take longer than usual and shall be subject to capacity limitations, due to our busy concert schedule and the increased number of visitors.

For this reason, we request you arrive in due time and recommend you use public transport instead of your car.

Opening hours on the 15th of March

We would like to inform our visitors that on 15 March, the Palace of Arts building will be open from 10 a.m. until the end of the performance, the ticket office from 10 a.m. until the end of the last interval.

The Ludwig Museum, the Bookshop, the CD and Sheet Music Store, the Musical Instrument Store, the Bohemian Restaurant and the P’art Café will be open as usual.

Ticket sales begin for Bach24 in March 2015

Tickets have gone on sale for the Bach24 non-stop series of concerts to celebrate the 330th anniversary of the birth of Johann Sebastian Bach. This unique programme will feature a total of 14 Bach concerts on the Palace of Arts organ from 10 pm on Friday 20 March until 10 pm on Saturday 21 March, with supplementary events for organ lovers running in the Foyer and Glass Hall.

Free afternoon events for children at the Celebration of Folk Music

From 3 pm on 17 January, free family activities will await folk music and folk dance lovers at the Foyer of the Palace of Arts. Vilmos Gryllus will set the mood for the event series at 3 pm with his opening solo concert on the stage in front of the bookstore. The rest of the events are mainly offered to children, all the more so because at this time, they will be called to the dance floor by their own peers, with students of Óbuda Waldorf School and Óbuda Folk Music School and the Tamariska Dance Workshop providing the musical accompaniment.

Early Music Festival: Philippe Herreweghe’s public rehearsal on 24 January

The Palace of Arts’ Early Music Festival between 21 and 25 January will feature Collegium Vocale Gent Choir and Orchestra as a special guest led by Philippe Herreweghe. At a rehearsal process of several days, the world famous conductor will prepare for the festival’s closing concert on 25 January with Mendelssohn’s oratorio Paulus, performed by the singers of the 45-year-old Belgian company, the excellent Purcell Choir led by György Vashegyi and Orfeo Orchestra. The public rehearsals at the Palace of Arts on 24 January at 10:30 am and 3 pm offer visitors a glimpse of the world-renowned old music performer’s workshop.
