Winter wonderland at Müpa Budapest: Müpa Winter Open Air is looking to double down on last years success offering spectacular festive programmes from 2 December. The Müpa Marquee offers visitors enchanting contemporary circus shows and theatre performances, pop-music concerts and children’s programmes, but visitors can also enjoy authentic winter indulgences, such as drinking mulled wine or ice skating to music broadcast by Müpa Radio. The use of the ice rink – open from 2 December to 28 January – is free of charge for one time with a valid Müpa Budapest, Müpa Marquee or Ludwig Museum ticket.

Visitors to Müpa Budapest will be welcomed by new intro tunes in the 2017/18 season. The institution won’t ditch the original, decade-old ones though: they will play at performances and in Müpa Budapest radio ads in versions re-orchestrated by the composer and head of the Fugato Orchestra Balázs Alpár. Müpa Budapest’s old and new intro tunes will greet audiences from mid-September, meaning that current performances already feature the new versions.
