Marking ten years together, Maszkura és a Tücsökraj, who have so far brought six albums of eclectic pop to the table of Hungarian dance music, get a well-deserved opportunity to perform a selection of their best-loved tunes on stage at Müpa Budapest. Honouring the surroundings of the Festival Theatre, they will also revive some long-unheard numbers with an entirely new and contemporary sound. Lovers of quality alternative pop will also see and hear special guests at this concert such as Anna Pásztor, Fatima Mohamed, Sub Bass Monster and Siska Finuccsi.
The group's distinctive style is defined by the unique look and musical approach of Transylvanian-born, top hat-sporting Maszkura. The songs are a collective effort, with the band providing the perfect musical backdrop to accompany the frontman's self-revealing lyrics. Their most popular tunes (Pesti nők, Tiszta gyümölcs and Lady Maga!) feature on the playlists of both national and local radio stations, and have also appeared on several compilation albums. "It's a long-cherished desire of mine to be able to use the key I've been given, and which I hold in my hand, to unlock even the pickiest ears. The smile of satisfaction will show on my face if it succeeds.” (Maszkura)
