This gala concert, which has been held at Müpa Budapest since 2008, celebrates Hungarian folk music and world music. In 2025, the two-part show will bring the diversity of the genres to life featuring everyone from Dűvő to Makám, and Anna Sőregi and the Balogh Kálmán Gypsy Cimbalom Band, as well as Vojvodina songs and soul-stirring tambura music. As we have come to expect, there will be a dance house performance in the Atrium prior to the concerts as Kale Lulugyi, a dynastic Gypsy band from the town of Oroszlány, set the mood. Their wealth of songs and dance knowledge passed down through the generations – not to mention the joint play of father and son – is built on Gypsy and Hungarian folk songs. Kale Lulugyi’s music features their own compositions in multiple languages, not to mention an energy that can pull anyone to the dance floor.
