Emil Petrovics's Cantata No. 1. is a work in a folk style. As an IT engineer in addition to being a member of the Zugló Philharmonia, not to mention a church musician and organist, Dénes Harmath encounters few obstacles working on his scores electronically. One of the central messages of the 112th Psalm, taken from the Book of Psalms, is the tremendous sustaining power of faith. Having the psalm set to music recalls Sunday evening prayer services, but with the melodic treasure of the liturgy tra...nsplanted into the language of classical music. While some may term it a symphony, Henk de Vlieger's The Ring - An Orchestral Adventure is really a seamlessly flowing symphonic poem that tightly packs in the leitmotifs and most popular orchestral passages of the Ring of the Nibelung one after the other, together with instrumental renditions of vocal sequences.
