“Finding the perfect sound is the biggest challenge faced by any performer – and for a musician it is absolutely essential. Central to every interpretation is the artistry and essence of the work beyond the visible score on the partitur. This is where the essence of music begins.” This is how legendary violinist, composer and teacher Sándor Végh explained the ars poetica of Camerata Salzburg when he took the helm of the orchestra in 1978. The orchestra arrives in Budapest with an unusually rich ...and varied programme of Mozart works and excellent Italian conductor Andrea Marcon, a Handel and Vivaldi specialist and head of the Venice Baroque Orchestra. Thomas Quasthoff is a unique singing personality in that he is equally at home with romantic Lieder (his interpretation of Schubert's song cycle is legendary), cantatas and passions from Bach and works by Mahler. His memorable opera roles have included Amfortas (Parsifal) and Fernando (Fidelio). Presented by the Budapest Spring Festival
