The symphony orchestra of the Ferencváros Jenő Ádám Music School was formed by school director Kálmán Szentmáry in 1984 and its first members were students who had performed well in school, college or national competitions, in addition to students preparing for a musical career and their teachers. Over time, the ensemble expanded with returning ex-members along with musicians from other defunct orchestras. Over the years, many well-known performers, composers and music teachers have made music t...ogether. Over the last twenty-five years, the Jenő Ádám Orchestra has received a great many invitations. They have played on children’s day in Parliament, at the Ferencváros Festival, at events celebrating the Hungarian Millennium and EU accession, at museums, cultural houses, churches, rural proms concerts and several foreign venues. For their twenty fifth birthday concert they will perform some of the most popular works in their repertoire.
