Mimi will be played by the Bulgarian soprano Svetla Vassileva who in 1998 partnered Plácido Domingo in I Pagliacci at the Ravenna Festival and London’s Covent Garden. In 2000 she sang Liu in Turandot at the Vienna Staatsoper and also under conductor Kent Nagano at the Los Angeles Opera. She also performed Mimi at the Turin Opera in 2006 where La Bohème received its world première all those years ago. Massimiliano Pisapia has already performed Rodolfo at La Scala Milan where he was also invited to perform Pinkerton with conductor Bruno Bartoletti. He additionally starred at the Puccini Festival at Torre del Lago. Boris Statsenko completed his vocal studies in Moscow and after winning several competitions, became a member of the Bolshoi Theatre in 1990 and the Düsseldorf Opera in 1999. Hungarian audience was lucky enough to enjoy this internationally renowned Russian baritone playing Scarpia at the Miskolc International Opera Festival. Turning thirty in 2008 Alessandro Luongo attended master classes with Mirella Freni and Renato Bruson among others. He has won a number of competitions and already enjoyed great success in Italy with his interpretation of Schaunard. András Palerdi studied in Budapest, the United States and Vienna before launching his career at the Vienna Staatsoper when he won a Herbert von Karajan scholarship. This led him to perform alongside Luciano Pavarotti, Agnes Baltsa and Plácido Domingo. Since then, he has been invited to perform at the leading opera houses of Europe and America.
