“ZongOpera” (PianOpera) – Operas on Piano. Not as piano reductions, but as grand and virtuoso piano works and fantasies. There was a time when the concert programme of a pianist was dominated by this genre. This performance by Ifj. János Balázs aims to evoke the atmosphere of these past concerts. In the time of Ferenc Liszt or György Cziffra, there were very few who believed that there are pianists who can actually play these impossibly difficult pieces in a worthy manner. János Balázs—who was r...ecently awarded the Junior Príma Prize and also won 3rd place at the international Liszt Year jubilee piano competition in Budapest—will not only be taking on this task on the night, but shall also present his very own piano technique and musical fantasies through—among others—opera hits of the 20th century and timeless pieces by Gershwin and Weill.
