Piotr Anderszewski is considered to be one of the most important pianists of his generation.
His 1990 London debut set him on the path to global fame. "A deeply moving experience… the audience listened entranced,” the music critic for The Independent wrote. Since then, Anderszewski has given concerts regularly in the world's leading venues: the Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall (London), the Wiener Konzerthaus, Carnegie Hall (New York), and Suntory Hall (Tokyo), playing with le...ading ensembles and conductors: the Berlin and London Philharmonics, the Royal Concertgebouw, the Boston and Chicago Symphony Orchestras, as well as with Claudio Abbado, John Eliot Gardiner, Bernard Haitink and Charles Dutoit. His first solo recording (of Bach and Beethoven) won the Polish Critics' Prize in 1996 and led to an entire Bach series. In 2001, a video of him playing Beethoven's Diabelli Variations won a number of French prizes, and The Guardian spoke of "music of the highest order”. His orchestral concerts won him the prize awarded by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to the finest instrumental performers. In 2002, he received the Szymanowski Prize in recognition of his performances of the composer's work. "...of the younger pianists, he seems the most likely to join the all-time greats” (BBC Music Magazine).
