Featuring: Ilona Prunyi – piano Conductor: Kálmán Berkes Piotr Tchaikovsky: Piano Concerto No. 1 in B flat minor, op. 23 Symphony No. 5 in E minor, op. 64 Tchaikovsky’s two exceptionally popular works will be conducted by the National Philharmonic Orchestra’s resident guest conductor (and also superb clarinettist) Kálmán Berkes. The soloist in the piano concerto will be Ilona Prunyi who boasts a broad repertoire, from Viennese classical and Romantic works to early 20th century French ...and Russian music, as well as many works by contemporary Hungarian composers. Over the past twenty years, she has made nearly fifty records, many of them world first recordings, for the Naxos, Marco Polo and Hungaroton firms.
