Alongside Korunk Zenéje (Music of Our Time) and the Budapest Autumn Festival, the Mini-Festival is among the top forums for contemporary and 20th century music in the Hungarian capital. The weekend of concerts primarily showcases the work of Hungarian musicians. The Hungarian Music Society (MZT) is organising the festival for the 24th occasion in 2012, an event that has seen performances of hundreds of compositions, many of them Hungarian or world premières. In what has become a tradition, the M...ini-Festival will take place on the last weekend of January and will feature chamber concerts, choral works and symphonic evenings. The goal of the series of events, which has found its home in the Palace of Arts in recent years, is to both preserve existing works of value and to present compositions by the young generation – and these noble intentions are amply apparent in the rich programme of concerts offered at the 2012 festival. In a special addition to the festival, a noted foreign group will once again take the stage, on this occasion the Alarm Will Sound ensemble from the United States. As the musical calling card for the festival, the opening concert will offer an insight into the work of several generations. Presented by: MZT, Palace of Arts
