Every season, the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO), which groups together Europe's most prestigious concert venues, gives an opportunity to six young musicians and ensembles to be presented to the public. Each participating venue may nominate one of the six featured performers for the concerts, which - in a departure from previous practice - each feature two selected soloists or ensembles in the 2015/16 season. Still in her early twenties, Harriet Krijgh already has multiple competition... victories to her name. Beginning her studies in her native Netherlands, she went on to attend the Vienna Conservatory, and is currently perfecting her craft at the citadel of cellists, the Kronberg Academy formed under the patronage of Mstislav Rostropovich. In the autumn of 2015, she tours with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields chamber ensemble under Neville Marriner. Quatuor Zaïde won prizes at three international competitions in the year following its foundation, in the musicians' home country of France, as well as in Canada and the Netherlands. A year after that, the four ladies reached the top of the podium in Beijing. This evening's young artists perform a selection of some of the finest works from the chamber music repertoire.
