A graduate of the Budapest Music Academy, organist László Deák continued his studies in Paris and has emerged victorious from a number of international music competitions. In this very special celebration of Easter at the Palace of Arts, he is joined by the legendary Ferenc Liszt Academy Chamber Choir – recently 'resurrected' by Péter Erdei – to perform a selection of French and German Baroque and late Romantic works. The evening will feature adaptations of Marcel Dupré's Stations of the Cross, ...combined with fitting visual elements to commemorate the events depicted in the music. The performance will recount the story of Jesus's death and resurrection with the help of four composers, plumbing the depths of despair (Aus tiefer Not ruf’ ich zu dir – From the depths of woe I cry to Thee) and soaring to the height of worship (Halleluja, Gott zu loben – Hallelujah, praise be to God).
