In its spring series, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra presents again a unique programme. András Szöllősy’s work will be conducted by a member of the orchestra, Péter Gazda while the soloist in the Tchaikovsky work will be the world famous German cellist, Gustav Rivinius who in 1990 attracted international attention when he won the gold medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. He later won the Rostropovich Prize in Paris, the ARD Prize in Munich and the Mendelssohn Prize i...n Berlin. Critics have praised him as both soloist and chamber musician for his virtuosity, expressivity and musical intelligence. During the course of his career, he has played with numerous ranking orchestras, as a chamber musician he formed in 1997 with Ani Kavafian and Barbara Westphal the internationally acknowledged Trio da Salo which has also undertaken numerous tours.
